Copper Sheet Fabrications

In conjunction with a specialist designer and the in-house design team of this international food group, GWE supplied and installed this stylised manufacturing plant at a famous Midlands children’s attraction. The plant was designed to simulate in an entertaining way, the original processes by which a well known brand of chocolate was manufactured. The plant features a number of interactive elements that allow children to participate in the manufacturing process and to view the product at various points as it progresses along the production line.

Central to the layout of the plant is a copper still, consisting of a GRP moulded core covered with copper sheeting and, although the still had a highly polished finish, it was essential that it had a well worn appearance. Surrounding the still are numerous pieces of input and output process piping, simulated pumps, control valves and instruments.

The project also included the exterior cladding of the building with powder coated mild steel sheets, various runs of external pipe work and entrance features with laser cut logos and decorations.
