Juliet and Conventional Balconies

Juliet and Conventional Balconies

Balconies extend living space and create an open aspect. Although designed to structural standards, it is essential that balconies are aesthetically pleasing and
significantly enhance the exterior of a building.

Manufactured from similar material to staircase balustrading, basic construction consists of a top rail or frame with infill panels of toughened glass, wrought iron, railings or perforated panels. Because access for installation can sometimes be difficult, balconies are usually designed to be as light in weight as possible. As an external feature, it is recommended that mild steel balconies be galvanised before coating. Where access is particularly difficult for maintenance, it is recommended that stainless steel be used in construction.
